In many Buddhist countries, monks take daily walks, bringing an empty wooden bowl with them for alms. Food, money, or other items may be donated to the monks to help sustain their practice. The donations are placed in the empty bowls.

In this same tradition, we hold out our begging bowl to you.

Financial Donations

Dai Kaijo is produced entirely by volunteers inside of prisons and outside of prisons. Likewise, it is funded wholly by contributions made by individuals. The funds received are exclusively invested in producing and mailing the newsletter. No one at Dai-KaiJo receives a salary or any other compensation for their work. All names of contributors are kept confidential.
